Confirm that the awning s circuit breaker or fuse is still active. For motorized awnings that aren t working you will need to have a professional look at the motor. Glue it in place from the underside pressing it well. Follow the same procedure as for rips in the fabric body cutting your repair fabric long enough and wide enough to extend beyond the rip.

You will not be able to use parts from one manufacturer to repair a problem with a different manufacturer. You can fix and repair small tears using adhesives made specially for this purpose. Reset the breaker or swap the fuse for a suitable replacement. The power becomes disconnected when the breaker or fuse detects an electrical fault.

The key is to keep the hole as small as possible and to halt any further breaking down of the material. If the awning is a cloth based material such as the coated heavy cotton material then you will need to fix this with some fabric. The first step is to measure the gap in the awning and then add about six inches on all sides.
