Dishwashers with custom panels if the dishwasher is manufactured with door springs mounted on the sides it may be necessary to adjust the springs to achieve optimum door balance when a custom panel of four lbs or less is installed. After prolonged use this spring may stretch or break requiring replacement. Not all ovens have springs but old springs can.

Slide out the bottom drawer and look under the oven for the springs between the oven and the door. Check the door springs to see if they are broken. The hinges on the dishwasher allow you to raise and lower the door. If the custom panel weighs more than four lbs a different spring kit is necessary.
