Slip the notch of the siding removal tool into the ridge at bottom of the vinyl panel.

Caulk any nailheads that break the paper face.
Lift up the course above and pull the nails holding siding to wall.
Sometimes dry rot may be discovered under the damaged wood siding and will also need to be repaired.
If your siding is buckling splitting warping delaminating or coming loose in large areas or if you see mold or other signs of moisture inside the siding remove a section and take a look.
Do not drive the nails flush or countersink them.
Use zip tool to disengage top of siding from the course above.

The heads will break the paper face allowing water to soak in and deteriorate the siding.

Cut the spare piece of vinyl along the marks using straight tin snips.
Thoroughly paint all exposed edges and grooves.
The new section will also need to be either stained or painted costs extra.
Pull siding away from house and cut through the bottom edge with aviation snips.
Use framing square and utility knife to cut through face of siding.
To repair damaged wood siding most contractors charge to replace an entire section typically 6 ft.
Cut a vinyl patch 4 inches 10 cm wider than the removed segment.
