Connect the elbows to the gutter connector with a sheet metal screw.
How to connect gutter elbows.
Attach a drop outlet from the end of the gutter to the start of the downspout.
Since downspouts are straight adding an elbow or two allows you to get the curve that you need to place your downspout in the right position.
Screw the bracket tightly closed with a power drill and a galvanized steel screw.
However you will likely need to put on an elbow first a piece that curves the gutter and lets it sit more flush to the house.
Unaltered two downspout pieces measure an inch or two shy of 20 feet not to mention the distance the two elbows at top cover.
This is our first video in our tutorial on metal roofing.
Attach the new downspout elbow fixture to the shortened downspout.
Insert an elbow up one inch into the bottom of the funnel shaped opening on the gutter which is called a gutter outlet.
Insert the bottom of the downspout into the top entry of the elbow.
The lower open end of the elbow should be facing away from the house.
This will direct water down into the downspout.
Secure the downspout to the drop outlet with a mounting support bracket.
